Product Overview
The HORIBA EMIA-Expert is a high-precision carbon and sulphur analyser based on combustion infrared and thermal conductivity detection. Designed for the accurate determination of carbon and sulphur in metals, alloys, ores, ceramics and other inorganic materials, the EMIA-Expert delivers fast, reliable results with minimal sample preparation.
The instrument operates by combusting the sample in a high-frequency induction furnace under an oxygen atmosphere, then measuring the resulting CO₂ and SO₂ gases using non-dispersive infrared detection. This technique is widely used in steel mills, foundries, mining laboratories and quality control facilities where rapid and accurate carbon/sulphur analysis is essential for process control and product certification.
