The Rigaku SmartLab SE is a multipurpose X-ray diffractometer that combines high performance with simplified operation, making advanced XRD analysis accessible to a broader range of users. The SmartLab SE retains the automated optics alignment and intelligent guidance system of the flagship SmartLab while offering a streamlined configuration optimised for the most common diffraction applications.

The SmartLab SE is used in industrial quality control, pharmaceutical polymorph screening, mining and minerals analysis, cement characterisation and academic teaching and research. It provides reliable phase identification, quantitative phase analysis (including Rietveld refinement) and crystallite size/strain determination with minimal training requirements, making it suitable for multi-user environments and laboratories establishing XRD capability for the first time.
