Product Overview
The Rtec MFT-5000 is engineered for versatility — a single instrument with interchangeable fixtures that replaces multiple dedicated tribometers. The modular design supports the full suite of standardised petroleum and lubricant tribology tests: 4-ball wear and EP tests per ASTM D2266, D2596, D2783 and D4172; pin-on-disk and ball-on-disk friction and wear measurements; block-on-ring tests for bulk lubricant evaluation; high-frequency reciprocating rig (HFRR) testing for diesel fuel lubricity; SRV testing for grease and lubricant formulation screening; and fretting wear analysis.
The MFT-5000 features real-time measurement of friction force, normal force and acoustic emission, with optional integrated 3D optical profilometry for quantitative wear scar volume analysis without removing the sample. Environmental control options — heating, humidity, gas atmosphere — enable testing under application-relevant conditions.
