About Sunset Laboratory
Sunset Laboratory Inc. is a US-based pioneer and market leader in organic carbon and elemental carbon (OC-EC) aerosol analysis. Founded in 1982, Sunset Laboratory developed the thermal-optical technique that was adopted as the analytical method for OC-EC measurements by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH Method 5040).
Sunset Laboratory’s product range includes the Lab OC-EC Aerosol Analyser for filter-based analysis and the Model-4 Semi-Continuous OC-EC Field Analyser for near real-time, in-situ measurement of carbon aerosol. Their instruments are compatible with NIOSH 5040, IMPROVE and EUSAAR 2 protocols and are deployed in more than 40 countries across six continents. Applications include ambient air quality monitoring, workplace exposure assessment, climate research, mining and environmental studies.
