- Used worldwide for air quality and particulate research
Product Overview
The Sunset Laboratory OC-EC Aerosol Analyzer is the industry-standard instrument for determining organic carbon and elemental carbon concentrations on quartz-fibre filter samples using the thermal-optical transmission method. The analyser is the basis for NIOSH Method 5040 and is fully compliant with the IMPROVE and EUSAAR 2 protocols, providing accurate speciation of carbonaceous aerosol into its organic and elemental fractions.
The OC-EC Analyzer is used for ambient air quality monitoring, workplace exposure assessment, climate research, epidemiological studies and source apportionment of particulate matter. Its proven thermal-optical technique with continuous laser-based pyrolysis correction ensures reliable separation of OC and EC fractions, which is critical for understanding the health effects, radiative forcing and sources of carbonaceous aerosol in the atmosphere.
