About Katanax
Katanax, a brand of Environmental Express, is a Canadian manufacturer of electric fusion fluxer systems for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) sample preparation. Katanax fusion machines are engineered for strength and precision, combining exceptional fusion accuracy with the advantages of electric power.
The Katanax product range includes the X-100 single-position fluxer, the X-300 multi-position fluxer and the X-600 high-throughput six-position fluxer. These systems automate each step of the fusion workflow — heating, mixing, pouring and cooling — to deliver consistent, reproducible results with minimal operator intervention. Katanax fluxers process a wide range of sample types including soil, alloys, slag, minerals, ceramics, glass and cement, producing either homogeneous glass beads for XRF analysis or acid solutions for ICP analysis.
